High School Musical 2 was my first musical role, and I played the role of the sassy Sharpay. This part was fitting, as I was the biggest diva. When showtime came, the director sat by the stage and fed us our lines, but I was prepared and did not look over once. Instead, I fed the other kids their lines, which I had also memorized. I stepped out for my one solo line and belted it as loud as I could! That was when I knew... I wanted to be fabulous (that is my simple request)!
I eventually grew out of my Sharpay phase and into a workhorse. I dedicated myself to studying and participating in singing, dancing, and acting through private vocal lessons since the age of ten, competing in A Cappella groups, and recording voice-overs for various musicals and soundtracks, like Frozen Jr. In my A Cappella group, Unstrumental, we worked hard to win the Los Angeles A Cappella Festival and caroled for children at the UCLA hospital (test me on the words for “We Three Kings” – I dare you).
My favorite roles include Velma Kelly in Chicago and Fiona in Shrek The Musical. At Syracuse University, I played Tilly in Melancholy Play: A Chamber Musical, and in my latest project, I performed as the Pigeon in Don’t Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus at the Hangar Theatre #firstfemalepigeon.
